The Message within the Project

 The need to protect, nurture and develop our youth has never been more critical. Suicide among young people, homeless children, child abuse and neglect, out of control/anti-social, destructive behavior and lifestyles are increasing at an alarming rate!

The statistics

·    In the 2006 census it was revealed that 33% of the homeless were under 18! That equates to approximately 34,000 in this supposed affluent country of Australia – and we think that figure is conservative (and worse today)

·    In fact Suicide is the second most common cause of death among young men in the Western world (psychology.org.au)

·    Self harm is the highest cause of hospital admissions for young girls 13 to 19 (Women’s Forum Australia )

·    70% of males and 50% of females have viewed porn more than once by the age of 12 (Sauers survey)

·    4 young Australians die each week due to alcohol related injuries (ABS)

What is the legacy we are leaving our children and our children’s children? The current generations needs to start taking responsibility, make a stand and do something!!! If we don’t, who will? We will not be able to lay blame elsewhere if things spiral out of control even further and we have not done or said anything.

Father Riley often quotes the red indian saying "it takes a village to raise a child" – it’s time for our community to be involved.

This compilation CD hopefully will raise the profile of that need through songs and words that speak out to this, and the next, generation

The week of 12 April, Hope 103.2 FM in Sydney will be doing a giveaway promotion of 10 CD’s during morning and drive slots accompanied by an interview with Joanne Lester

That week or the one after will also some giveaways and promotion on 1WAY FM in Canberra
